How Can swelling And Pain In The Hand Be Treated?

Hi my husband has had hand surgery for carpal tunnel on both hands in the past. His hands have recently started swelling and is causing him pain. He is seeing a doctor next week his surgeon for this. He can t make a fist. How can I help him until he sees Dr. Christensen on April 18, 2017. Thanks for your help. Sandy Gregory

I would suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

I would also suggest using cold compresses for relief.
